H.E. Hon. Governer of Maharashtra, Shri.S.C. Jamir released the "YASHADA Certificate Courses" Information Handbook at the Academy on 14 August 2008.
The numerous activities at YASHADA span a vast panorama of training, research, extension, collaboration and academic education. More than 100 training programmes and workshops are conducted on a monthly basis. The Academy's faculty go beyond the classroom to all the districts of Maharashtra. Some programmes are implemented on a national level, while there is international diversity in various activities.
The "YASHADA NEWS" in English and "YASHADA VARTA" in Marathi are bimonthly newsletters of the Academy. The compact 4-page pictorial format in full colour has been appreciated in being able to disseminate YASHADA's activities on a regular basis to friends, collaborative institutions and governmental agencies.
The coverage has included a street-play to spread awarness about the Right to Information (RTI) Act, the visit by Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra to YASHADA on 4 July 2008, the satellite-linked distance education programmes initiated by the Director General, YASHADA and the conduct of a training programme for officers of the various Sri Lankan administrative services.
The photographs in the newsletters are meant to convey more than the brief text acompanying them. Snapshots of the campus, the training facilities, aesthetic lawns and training programmes naturally tempts one and all to visit YASHADA again and again.
