POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN RURAL MANAGEMENT
YASHADA is introducing a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management
(PGDRM)
Introduction-
YASHADA, a
premier training institute of India, has been conducting training,
research and consultancy in the field of Development Administration
for the last 40 years. YASHADA is also a National Resource Centre
for many of the schemes of Government of India and also many UN
organisations. So far YASHADA has conducted short-term courses for
in service government personnel. However since last year it has
introduced diploma courses in partnership with academic bodies of
international repute.

The YASHADA Post Graduate Diploma
in Rural Management is a one-year course, which is designed to
impart a mix of practical as well as managerial skills and
personality development inputs. It also aims at improving the
understanding of the economic, social and political environment in
order to improve the ways and means through which managers at all
levels will be able to deliver better services. The training and
examination have been made flexible enough to enable those working
to continue with their jobs even while taking the course.
This course will not only hone
skills in managing men and money and providing services to rural
India, it will enable participants to understand how rural India
functions, how people think and how to work with them. Learning in
this course will involve a healthy mix of inputs from senior
academics and persons with long and successful experience from the
field, from persons who have been involved in key decision-making
tasks in the Government. It provides a unique opportunity to work
with those engaged in the task of rural management.
Course USP-

Course Structure-
•Academic
Inputs- 10 modules
conducted through written lessons of distance learning supplemented
by contact sessions for 34 days. Two contact sessions, the first in
September 2007 and the second in January 2008 shall be conducted in
YASHADA. These sessions are compulsory.
•Internship-
2 weeks as attachment to various organisations along with one
seminar paper to be submitted by each participant as an individual
assignment. This would be scheduled in June 2008.These too are
compulsory.

Duration

Minimum
course duration is one year. However after completing contact
sessions, seminar papers and attachments students can take
examination within a period of 5 years after registration.

Who can enroll
-
The candidate should be
A graduate in any discipline from
a recognized University
AND
Fluent in written and spoken
English
AND
Preferably with some experience
of working in rural sector.
OR
Senior In-service Officers
working in Panchayati Raj Institutions, Government Departments,
Elected representatives, Professionals, Consultants, NGO
representatives, Rural activists and any student who wants to pursue
a career in Rural Management.
